As is the case with most abstract art, Ali Moshiri's draws his inspiration from the physical world. Moshiri calls this group of paintings on canvas, paper or metal his "Peonies" series.
These paintings stem from the artist's desire to depict their fleeting
essence and the transient nature of their form. Through careful working
and re-working of the surfaces, paying careful attention not only to
the layers of color and their relationships to each other, but the
textures he creates, Moshiri creates something new and unexpected out of
something familiar. |
