Travis Louie, Moon Boy, 2014, acrylic on board, 10 x 8"
During the brightest moon it is said that a "moon
boy" comes down from the night sky to look for his favorite pie. It is
usually Dutch apple, but sometimes peach depending on who is telling the story.
The Dutch apple pie is described as one with tart and crisp Goudreinet apple
slices, with a crust on the bottom and around the edges and strands of
dough covering the filling in a lattice formation. This pleases the
"moon boy" and puts a smile on his face. It also prevents him from
causing a tremendous amount of chaos as he is filled with murderous rage until
he can finally get his claws on a pie to his liking. |
